When he first learned about planned giving, Father Allen Mott, of St. Anthony Parish in Gwinn and St. Joseph, Northland, saw how easy it is to give to the causes that matter to him most. A gift to a permanent endowment enables him to balance both his giving now and in the future.
"Over time, I have grown to love being generous with what God has given me. I think it is important to provide for the needs of others now and to provide for future generations," says Fr. Al.
As a former seminarian with the Diocese of Marquette, and now a parish pastor, Fr. Al has a special place in his heart for seminarian education. He knows firsthand the time, effort and expense involved in the long journey to the priesthood. So he has set up a percentage bequest gift in his will for the Seminarian Endowment Fund.
"The people of the Diocese have been so generous throughout my seminary training and beyond. I like to think of my legacy gift as a way to both 'give back' and 'pay it forward' at the same time. I hope many generations of seminarians and Upper Peninsula Catholics will benefit from my pre-planned gift," says Fr. Al.
If you are interested in giving a gift that will last for more than a lifetime, consider giving to a fund like the Seminarian Endowment Fund. Contact Scott Fenley at (906) 227-9108 or sfenley@dioceseofmarquette.org to discuss your options.
